Looking for some help here. Three months back I tried to start my truck (99 XLT V6) and got nothing but a clicking noise. The radio came on, and my interior lights worked, but that was all. AAA came out and jumped my car and I drove it straight to NTB (owned by Sears) and had new battery installed. No problems.

Three months later (today) same thing happened again and this is the new battery. Have not had lights on overnight or anything like that. Is it possible that the battery is not recharging itself?

Had a friend recharge the battery and again it started just fine. BTW - the battery gage indicator has never shown itself as being low, always right in the middle.

Are your cables in good condition? Sometimes they corrode and cause a non-start issue. If they are OK sounds like you might have an open in the wiring somewhere and it's draining your battery.

If the alternator was not recharging the battery it's would have been DOA long before 3 months.
