Delayed hard shift

I have a 93 4x4 EB , and the trany was rebuilt about 2 weeks ago. I have since moved it across the country on a trailer, got it of the trailer and now it doesn't want to shift out of first until about 3500 rpm and is late on shifting out of second also. Along with this there has started a little clicking like sound that gets going only when the rpms get high. It does all of this when cold or hot. I have found that if I manually put it in first and shift it out it will do fine, but lags on shifting out of second and still has that little clicking sound. It also has started shifting very hard into reverse. Any ideas?

Check to see

if the vacuum line is connected all the way from the engine to the vacuum modulator on the side of the transmission. A leak would cause a late shift in 1 & 2. If second works, the only other compnent is the reverse band and servo piston and you say this was rebuilt. Is a hard shift high rpm then engagement or just a big clunk?

It does engage after it shifts and drives ok, (still has that little clicking sound though). When I make it shift manually it doesn't shift hard, just normally. I have also noticed that if I let it shift by itself it usually shifts out of first at 4000rpm and then will shift out of second normally. When I manually shift it out of first, then it lags shifting out of second, long delay. Also when I put my foot on the brake and put it in reverse, it almost slams it in reverse, (very hard).

hrmm, I'd be interested in knowing what this is.. sounds kinda familiar.. not exactly.. but similar.

Well the vacum hose had come lose. I put a new hose on and it is running great! The transmission place that rebuilt it didn't put a new hose on it and the old one had been on so long that it would slide off with ease. Thanks for your help Opera House! And a note to any one replaceing the vacum hose: It is located on the pasenger side of the trany and make sure you let your exhaust cool down, as you can't hardly get to it without touching the exhaust. Mine is a 93 and I am told that newer models don't have this vacume, but it is electronic.
