Unless it has been reprogrammed it is written on a box located in back. Open up the panel in the cargo area on the dirvers side and you should it. My daughter is using my Ex so I cannot confirm it right now.

i doesn't matter if it's been reprogrammed. the RAP's factory code cannot be erased. there's a large sticker on the RAP module with a 5 digit number on it. that's your factory code. start by checking for a plastic card in your owner's manual paperwork. unless lost, it will have your factory key-pad access code. if no card, remove the jack access panel on the d/s rear cargo area and look forward. you'll see a cream colored box. it's kinda hard to see the sticker, but it's there. if you can't read the number, you may need to remove the trim panel.

re: remotes... yes new can be programmed into the RAP module. there is a procedure on how to do this in the owner's manual. new key fob's are are really cheap on ebay. you can also program new/additional keys as long as you have at least 2 working keys.

The remotes you turn vehicle on and off 10 times in 15 seconds the doors will lock. Press the unlock on key fob doors will cycle.
The door pad is either under glove box or behind seat.

on a 2000 mountaineer, the RAP module is in the jack compartment and your instructions on programming remotes is not correct. OP - read your owner's manual re remotes.

The RAP module on a 4 door is accessed forward thru the jack panel. If you can't quite see/read the 5 digit code on the RAP box, try sticking your smartphone/camera in there and taking a picture. Might take several tries to get a legible one. If all else fails, you have to remove the plastic panel on the driver's side of the cargo compartment. Good luck.

I was able to reprogram my RAP, there is a good video on youtube.

Key pad code took some eye ball straining with flashlight and I got that also.

All working good now thanks for the help, on my road to recovery now,, Gen 2 V8 AWD that is.

FYI: both your new code and the factory code will work. as i told you earlier, the factory code doesn't get replaced (kinda wish it did). did you get your remotes working too? if you need those instructions, i can give them to you, but it's listed in the owner's manual.
