Ever since attempting to install an AUX box (PXDX2) to my 6CD/Mp3 factory radio, the CD loader no longer works.

Now I don't think this is something I can fix, as I have tried all the standard attempts at "resetting" the radio (re-seat fuse, disconnect battery) and nothing works, still can't load CDs (LOAD ERROR). Everything else, AM/FM, clock, sound, wheel controls, etc on the radio works as normal. I do not want to "open" the radio at this point as not sure what I would look for if I did.

Technically, I never did anything but disconnect and reconnect the harness cables, maybe 3 or 4 times when troubleshooting the install.

I plan on taking back to the dealership to replace the factory radio (I think it is an Audiophile system) under warranty. I am going to keep my mouth shut about the failed AUX box install. Do you think they will KNOW I tinkered with the radio a bit (during PXDX2 install)? If so, would they deny my warranty claim?

Lastly, is it possible that the PXDX2 Aux box didn't work BECAUSE the CD changer malfunctioned? I generally understood that the PXDX2 works by interfacing with the CD changer system, in a sort of piggy back setup.

Any help is appreciated!

That unit uses the AUX/SAT interface with the radio. Therefore it has nothing to do with the CD auto changer. I'd remove all you have done and plead ignorant at the dealer.

nope.

Throw this in their face and they should have no problem at all. If they try and deny it first.

This is tha law about warranty and aftermarket stuff.

I had to use this alot when i was in the audio installation business.

But yes i would remove what you did.

Thank you all

Especially Aaron for the legal info.

Anyone know what the process would be? I mean would the dealer try to fix the radio first, or would they just look at it, verify the problem, and just order a new one under warranty?

(It would be nice to hear from any dealer service techs on this!)

Of course, the goal is to minimize the amount of visits to the dealer, since they are about 30 minutes from where I live.

Dealers hardly ever fix anything, they just replace parts. The problem is that they probably do not have one in stock.
