Can someone spare a moment and explain the difference between Stage 1 and 2 lift kits? I am looking at the Pro Comp 5" Lift Ranger (2wd - Stage 1) for my Explorer. Would this work? (I feel like such a newbie askin this but oh well...)

*I just want to lift it so i can fit bigger tires, and have a more aggresive looking truck. I dont plan on doing much offroad in this at this time...

Stage 1 lifts usually include just the basic lift. Stage 2 will include things like extended radius arms, dual shock setups, and maybe different rear lifting methods, but if depends on the manufacter of the lift kit. Essentially, stage 2 kits give you extras that give you better off-road performance. If you are going to just lift the Ex for just an aggressive look, just go with a stage 1. Although, if that is all you are going for, a 2" body lift is a better option (3" is a PITA) since its cheaper.
