difficulty starting/sputtering

Ok I have a 95 explorer 4x4 4.0 and its been moody lately. Some days will start fine and run I'll drive to the gasstation put gas in and then it won't start. It will take about 45 min before it can start again. It will turn over and then sputter and die. And just today its starting to act alittle sluggish when I'm low rpms. But when I push down the gas it goes fine.

Had a similar problem in my sedan. Check Idle Air Control valve. Mine had the spring come undone. Kept stalling out. Of course I was sitting at a sevice station when this happened and I couldn't find anything wrong before letting them touch it. And well, golly gee I just replaced that IAC 6 months ago, why would I check it now? Yeah, my bad.

May be it, may not. But it is a simple check.
