Digital temperature guage?

In the new explorers they have a digital compass and thermostat on the roof in the middle above the mirror, can you buy those to put into an explorer that doesnt have it?

You sure can, I added one to mine. You'll have to find the overhead console, the mounting bracket that screws to the roof, the wiring harness (cause it's not already in the roof), and the temperature sensor. Here's a tech article written for the site detailing the install.

I'd also suggest running a search on the boards for overhead console. There were plenty of threads concerning this, in the past.

It can be done, just look at the above post. But is it worth the time and trouble? I have the console in my X, and find it pretty worthless! Unless you are going deep into the woods or desert, a compass does nothing. And if I want to know the temp. outside, I open the window.

It was worth the time, trouble, money, and sweat to me. I thought that having the console would be pretty cool, and then installing it myself and having it work properly when I was done made it all worth it. I suppose I just like doing stuff to my truck, but the console reallt is pretty cool. Maybe he feels the same way.
