Do I have remote start?

I've had my 02 explorer 4.0 for about 4 years, and I just noticed a sticker under the hood that says my vehicle is equipped with remote start. How do I confirm this? Will my key fobs even work for it? They have 4 buttons...lock, unlock, red/panic, and blue/tailgate. Can't believe I haven't even thought about having it, being I live in Wisconsin. Thx in advance.

Look under the dash for a box with a bunch of wires that looks like it does not belong, that will most likely be the remote start, and there is a separate remote for the start.

I can't be 100% sure but I really don't think remote start would have been offered in 2002, it would most likely be after market and thus need the remote for that aftermarket unit...

There's a whole rats nest of wires just zip tied up in there. I see the box for the security system. Other than that, it's just wires and fuses.

When I bought my 02 used, dealer said I didn't have a remote start when I asked. Looked into it, and found someone capped the wire for injector sense. I tapped into an injector and programmed remotes then tried the remote and now it works fine. Mine is a Code Alarm system. Says this on module under dash

The rats nest is it. Ford would never do anything like that from the dealer or factory. It can be uninstalled. Or just leave it there, you might even get the make and get a remote for it.

Some people have a factory add on system that connects to the factory fob, try hitting the lock button and then push it twice real quick and see if it starts, if not try it again but push it 3 times, just look it up on youtube it's really cool! Good luck!
