Title says it all. I put a 98 explorer read end in my 95 Dakota, and I really don't feel like paying $250 to get my driveshaft welded & balanced. So I'm looking for a flange yoke that bolts to the rear end and connects to the U-joint on my driveshaft (dodge 8.25). I don't even know if such a thing exists lol.

I paid less than half that for a whole driveshaft and I only supplied the yoke. Try The Driveshaft Shop in Salisbury, NC. even with shipping, you may be ahead. 704-6332380. Quick service. Mine took 2 days. Good luck.

I'm looking for an adapter that I can put on my rear end though, so that if the drive shaft fails for some reason I don't have to get a new one made. Besides, the reason that I don't feel like paying is because I don't have really even $100 extra in my budget :P

I was thinking last night after I posted this, Maybe I could make something that would work.

I could remove the yoke from the old rear end and machine down the backside until it was perfectly flat. Then take a piece of square plate and drill holes to bolt it onto flange mount on the Ford rear end. Then, I could drill four holes in the Dodge yoke, drill and tap matching holes in the plate, and bolt it together.

I have access to a bridgeport at my school, maybe a write-up on homemade adapters is in order...

Great idea! It would be just like the wheel spacers that also change your bolt pattern
Your only challenge will be to have it be balanced.
