does everyone have problems pulling a trailor just a small 4wheeler trailor with their explorer. mine is 2wd and 4.0l and it sucks pulling my 4 wheeler it drags it down bad and ruins fuel mileage i get about 22 without and about 15 with a trailor just wandering if it is just gears or what it has plenty of power without the trailor but none with it?

22 hwy or city?

15 sounds about right with a loaded trailer....i average somewhere around 15 city with my truck but thats with a lift tires 4.10 gears ect

Pulling a 15 foot runabout I dont get much worse fuel economy, and I can barely even tell its there

is yours a 4x4 and is it a 5.0l bc it sucks for me pulling a trailor i want to be able to pull a bit trailor but scared to the way it acts now i think it will last about 30 miles and burn up the transmission so i dont but it really drags it down and it gets 22 in the city alittle more on the highway but i haul a$$ on the highway.

I have a 4.0 OHV 4X4 and it does pull well. with heavy trailers it sucks gas badly but with lighter things like my boat there isn't much of a differance. Maybe the aerodynamics of a boat vs an ATV makes a differance

4wd, 4.0 sohc, pulls fine. have a 4x8 flatbed with my sportbike (towed MO to GA). also towed a 4x6 enclosed u-haul trailer from NC to MO containing my 4 wheeler and some other extras (through the mountains mind you). also my dad's 17' pontoon boat.

noticed they were there sometimes when braking but otherwise no probs
