why is there only 10.5 volts at my alternator yellow wire on my 1997 ex, it charges when i give it 12.2 voltd

Back up a bit. Is the battery at about 12.6V after vehicle has ran but now off? Does the alternator produce 14.4V or close when running?

What is "when I give it 12.2 voltd".

New battery, 12.4 volts at stud on alt. No charge. Yellow wire on alt plug only has 10.5 volts. When I jump 12.4 volts to the yellow wire the alt. Produces 14.4 volts I just wonder if anyone knew why

Mine did that and it was a fuse in the box under hood!
