Does the outside keypad beep?

I bought a 2008 Explorer and it has the keypad lock/unlock on the door. I'm trying to figure out the code by just going through every possible code. The long way, I know. At any rate, my question is - Should it beep as I press the buttons? It doesn't seem like it's doing anything at all. Can you help me out?

I thought somewhere on this forum I read that the default code is printed on part of the computer?

No beeps and I think that will shut the pad down if you keep putting in #s.

Oh ya I have heard the # is somewhere inside as well and they can pull it out of the cards memory with the computer with at the Ford shop that is how I got mine.

This is the most logical way to figure the code out. since there are only 100,000 combinations of the 5 digits.

Now an easier way would be to get a mirror and look at the sticker with the number on the smart junction box. Its under your dash on the drivers side,and you need the mirror because its on the back side.
