My driver side doorlock will not work and I can't figure out why?? All the other door locks work so I pulled of the panel to investigate. I found that the plug to the actoater was getting juice so I bought a new actuater for $80. That did not fix the problem becuse I believe one wire is to unlock and the other is to lock and only one shoots juice. I guessed the switch was bad and $25 later found out it was ok so now what?? My haynes book says there is a driver door lock relay that is not tied in to the rest of the relays but I can not find it. I need a little help please!

Coltman, according to my FSM there are 3 relays related to the doorlocks. One for locking, one for unlocking, and one for driver's door unlocking. They are all located in the driver's side compartment in the cargo area.

The diagram shows the driver's unlock relay as being the one to the far left of the other two, but that may not coincide with where it actually is (in relation to the other two). You may have to pull them all, one at a time, to find the correct one.

Hope this helps.

Help

Is there anyway you could scan that diagram of the relays? If it can not be posted on hear my email is b_alley@hotmail.com . Thanks for the help.

You have mail.:)

I am having the EXACT same problem on my X right now  Keep me updated on how you fixed it, and could I possible see this diagram too please?

My brother-in-law had a problem with his door unlocking by itself once the door was closed. He had a hard time convincing Ford but eventually they fixed it. I can't remember how though. Check with Ford there might be a TSB on this.

Thanks

Thanks for the help RunninOnEmpty I found the relay box thanks to you but have not had time to go to ford for a new relay. You said in your email you had a cd. Were did you buy it? Is it a repair manuel on disc? Thanks again for the help.

You're welcome. Glad you found it Coltman.

I bought the factory service manual on CD off
E-Bay. It was about 12 bucks plus shipping. There's always several on there for sale, at any one time.

I hope a new relay fixes it. Let us know how it turns out.

Majisto, sorry, for some reason I couldn't copy the diagram from the CD. The description was the best I could do. Good luck with yours also.

One last question

Hey runninonempty does your cd say what number the relay is?? I have a new relay but no one can tell me which block it goes in. The lidd on the the fuse box is numbered so By chance would you have the number? Thanks again.

Coltman, neither my Haynes nor FSM shows a pic of the relay box with enough detail to spot the driver's unlock relay position, nor or they numbered.

However, both books show 3 relays inside, and the relays are electrically identical. So I would think that you could switch the new relay with all three, and keep testing the door until you find the correct one.

If you can see the wiring colors to the relays, the drivers unlock relay will have 5 wires going from it, with the following colors:

Black/white
Black/white
Pink/orange
Light green
Red/orange

Hope some of this helps.
