so i need to replace the driver side mirror on my x and i was wondering is there any special way to remove the door panel or does it just require a bit of MANERGY.
a panel popper is a great tool to have, if you don't want to buy one a medium to large size flat head screw driver works pretty well too. Rather than using sheer strength be careful and just work around the edges otherwise your gonna rip the little pin thingers apart and you'll have to go buy some more.
also make sure you take the screws out near the inside door grab handle. having the window down when you do this makes things easier on life as well. if it doesnt want to pull out at the top near the window, just give it a few bangs on the panel while holding it away from the door a bit
I'm a fan of the manergy route. Plus, it makes you look like the hulk. Don't forget the sound effects.
Or you look like a terminator ripping off a door. Sometime the grommets come off. I just use some pliers to put them back on the door panel. They just slid on my 96.

goto harbor freight or a collision supply and spend 5-10 on a trim removal tool set. If not you may be spending that and more on door christmas tree clips when you destroy yours. If you use manergy you will most likely damage clips or their retainers.
thanks for the reply. I went the taped up two screwdrivers and 1/4 manergy route. and in cause you were wondering there were hulk sound effects eventhough they werent required, it was just one of those goofy days.
i must say that it was easy with the window rolled down. and its alot easier before you roll down the window make sure your "new" battery actually works so you can roll up to get to the mirror wires.
