Just picked up a 98 sport without key less entry and when I lock the doors within 10 minutes or so they will unlock themselves. I did a wiggle test on all the door and hatch switches. Nothing. Just wondered if anybody has seen this before.

The latches seem secure? Did you mean all of them do it at the same time? Sounds electrical in nature, as if power door locks are actuating themselves.

Can't say I've run into that particular issue with door locks, though I have ended up with intermittent lock operation on driver's door (in which door would not lock, or could not be unlocked from outside), rear/tailgate lock only unlocking intermittently (would always lock fine), and a rear door stuck locked.

All the doors will unlock by themselves. May take 5 minutes may take a hour.

These vehicles are known for strange and intermittent behavior with faulty batteries. Have it tested. GL

likely a wire issue (bare / cut).... in either the driver's door post or the other common issue area, the left rear passenger cable raceway.

Does this just happen while driving, or do they auto-unlock when the vehicle is just sitting?? Do they ever LOCK by themselves? First, swap the lock and unlock relays and see if the problem moves or not. If it does, replace the relay; if not, relays are likely good. Then, follow budwich advice above and look for bare/broken wires in the door boot and the wiring channel. The "unlock" wires that operate the unlock relay are pink/light green; operating one of the switches puts a ground on the relay through the pink/light green wire to unlock the doors. A bare or broken wire touching ground will also cause the relay to operate. Good luck.

PS: According to the wiring diagram, the pink/lt green wire also goes to the GEM. If the doors "unlock" while the truck is just sitting with no one around, that is the first place to look. GEMs can do some strange things in these vehicles.
