Hey folks,

My driver seat is stuck in a "extremily layed back" position. Unfortunately, it is powered driver seat so i cannot manually addjust to proper seating position.

Its like i am driving in a horizontal position. I am currently using 3 cushions so that i can at least see over the steering wheel.

the seat can slide back and forward(manual) but the portion for back support is not working. When i press the button i can hear it trying to move, but nothing is happening.

I take it that since i hear it trying to move that the switch and fuse are good.

Any help extremily appreciated.

Regards :exp:

Sounds like the seat lever. I don't about the 91's, but I know there's a problem with some of the Seat Recliner Lever's where they break and won't hold you up.

All you should need to do is replace the lever mechanism and you should be good (do a search on "seat lever" or "recliner lever" and you will find a ton of posts on this).

Good luck.

He has a power driver's seat. ;) And yes, I had a recall on my recliner seat lever.

Well, if the motor works, then it is stuck on something. Check to see if there are any obstructions in the way of the seat. Try to "help" it up while the button is pressed.

I had a '93 EB. And broke my manual recline handle clean off. Luckily it was in a position that I desired. The seats do have a manual recline handle which would allow you to bring the back up. If it's the bottom of the seat tilted back, and the motor is running, then maybe it's in the gearing or something. As far as I know there are 3 buttons for the seats. One to bring the nose up and down, one to bring rear up and down, and then another square knob the slide the seat forward and back along with raising the whole seat up and down. Never to my knowledge did the back lean back powered, there has always been a handle to tilt the back portion. If it is the back part, then a manual recline assembly is neaded like said before. Otherwise I would too check for obstructions. I would think it's probably a burnt out motor if nothing else.

yup what ebinterceptor said....
