Hi All

I was driving through town the other night and I got pulled over...the officer told me my driver side and my third rear lights are not working at all. I thanked him and was on my marry way. This morning I began to look into the problem. To test I put on my 4 way flashers, and like the officer said I have absolutely no activity on my driver side or 3rd rear lights. However my passenger rear lights work perfect.

So I looked up Bulb numbers and went to WalMart and picked up some bulbs and while I was at it picked up a fuse kit. First thing I did was check all fuses on the inside and only found 1 bad one (For the Cigar Lighter) I replaced that...and actually that still doesnt work lol. However all other fuses on the inside looked good.

Then I replaced the bulb, and still no lights at all on my driver side.

Also, this may help diagnose the problem, the rear power lock for the hatch does not work either.

So I'm thinking it has to be a fuse or something of that nature, but as of that I'm lost.

So if anyone can lead any light on this issue it would be great. Also I'm totally going to become an Elite member after this lol.

Thanks in advance!

-Eric

PS: I also purchased a 12 volt splitter for my extra 12 volt outlet. I always leave my Sirius radio plugged in however when I would hit bumps it would come out a bit and turn off, and this splitter is a snugger fit in the outlet. However the splitter has a tiny red led that is on all the time, and since that outlet is on all the time the light is always on. Since i'm sort of gun shy when it comes to losing battery power will this really drain it, or should I not worry?

Again, thanks in advance!

I hate to bump a post but anyone have any ideas at all on this?

Your options for what could be wrong are basically 1) bad bulb, 2) bad multifunction switch, 3) bad fuse, or 4) bad wiring/splice.

The weird thing is that the center stop light isn't working even though it is connected directly to the brake pedal position switch, with nothing in between. The driver/passenger stop lights go through the MFS and another fuse before going to the bulbs.

You may have two separate problems. Check the wiring going to the trunk lid. There might be some broken wires or a loose connector there causing problems for the center stop light and the power lock. As for the driver's side stop light, check the 7.5 amp fuse for that side (with a multimeter, don't just look at it), and check with a multimeter to see if power is going to the plug for the bulb.

As for your concerns about your battery running down, you have nothing to worry about. The power that the LED draws is less than what the radio uses to keep the clock going and the presets saved.

check your wiring at the back associated with the trailering option... even if you don't have it. Lots of posts have had success in finding the problem there.
