Driver's door is stuck partly closed.

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger. The passenger side door won't open with the key from the dealer (used), so I'm always using the driver side door. Today the driver side door handle broke off and the door is partly ajar. I tried shoving it closed completely but it won't move. I can't get the door to unlatch and can't get into the car from the passenger side. Also can't seem to open the sliding window. I noticed two star screws under the handle, and was wondering (but then again, they're probably rivets). If I can get those off will I be able to get to the mechanism to open the door? I can't even use my manual to look it up because it's also in the truck.

Yes, I finally got the door unlocked. The driver side door handbroke with the door still closed. After two days I managed to get the back sliding window open and I used a golf club to pry the handle of the passenger door open. Then made an appointment and had the door handle replaced and the entire truck re-keyed to open with a single key. Thanks for getting back to me .
