I was inspecting my Explorer's front driveshaft the other day and noticed that the rubber boot on the transfer case end had quite a bit of rot/cracking/few small holes. I was wondering if a new boot could be purchased anywhere... I can't seem to find them at all. I emailed a couple of driveshaft rebuild places to see if they could get me the part, but I'm still waiting on responses.

EDIT:

I removed the rubber boot and everything looked great. The bearings and splines were still coated sufficiently in grease.

Kiss the shaft goodby. That is what the boot is there for. It wont be long until you decinigrate the CV.

jtsmith has one for sale.

Everything under the boot still looks new. Nothing even looks remotely worn. The grease didn't have any shavings/debri in it. I'm confident that if I could get a replacement boot, it would be fine.

Anyone have a junk shaft they wanna pull the boot off of and mail me? :D
