2001 Ford Explorer XLT V8
I'm new here. I have a question regarding a bolt I dropped in front of the engine. It's a thermostat housing bolt. I looked everywhere and had no luck finding it. So I started it. It's a 2001 Ford Explorer XLT V8. It was running then I heard the bolt getting bounced around by metal. Before I could turn it off it made a very loud ting! And shot somewhere very fast and I heard it hit metal and immediately the car shut off. I tried starting it again and now it turns over but will not start. A few people have said that it is most likely the crankshaft sensor. I've located the sensor and it doesn't look damaged. But could it still be this sensor? Please help.

Are both the wires inside the sensor? Also, check the sensor (forgot the proper term) on the top of the engine, underneath the intake at the front, small round thing with two wires, don't take it apart but visually inspect it. Also, just look around for visual damage, if it hit anything very hard it'll either be busted or have a nice dent.
