I've found some screens for pretty cheap and I'm thinkin about throwin one in my X with my PS2 I'm getting for Christmas. I don't know that I really want a drop down screen. I've seen a bunch of swivel ones but I'm not sure where I would put it. Anybody have any screens ANYWHERE in your Explorers?

Where can u get screens for cheap, and how cheap? What size screens?

I have a swivel screen (5.8 inch) between my center AC vents and my rearview mirror. I took off the whole radio/AC panel, mounted the TV's mounting plate (flat)underneath(screwed to the dash out of view), and popped the panel back on over it.

My dreamcast is under the dash on the passengers side. I took the panel of the dreamcast off where the controllers plug in and mounted it in the Kleenex box holder in the console. I used computer network wire to extend the wires from the game to the wires on the controller panel.

I have 5.6" screens in my headrest and my visors and another in the middle of my dash with dvd/svcd/vcd/mp3 player and a sega saturn and ps2 that i switch out every once in awhile with sound comming in via fm modulator screens are great and wherever you chose to put them you will like it

Where did you find the screens? How much? Do they have any other deals going on?

I don't know you guys' definition of cheap but.....I found a 5" for $120 and a 5.6" for $170. Justin146 what year model do you have? And also, does your swivel screen in the middle fold down so that the cops won't bug?

where is this 5" for 120?

one word...................Ebay!!!!!!!!!!!!

jeems, I have a '95. What can the cops say to you? Is it against the law to have an LCD screen in your truck? I dont have it on all of the time, only when friends are riding with me playing Dreamcast. Can they give you a ticket? If it is against the law, then why does my sister's new ES300 have one in it from the factory? It is not a TV but it is a fairly large LCD screen. I would be very pissed if I got a ticket :fire:

I know that in Texas at least, if the screen is in view of the driver and it is turned on at the moment then you can get a ticket. If you have a swivel you can point it at the passenger's side. If you have a touch screen then you can have a screensaver on where the driver can see it but not a movie. Do you think you can get a picture of your setup for me?

BTW, those screens were in Summit Street & Strip Magazine.

Just don't play it while you're driving and the cops shouldn't say a thing. I'm going to put one in my Audi so when I'm driving late on a sunday night I can stop and watch the simpsons.;)

I found a solution to the video screen thing that works great for me. I use a laptop with a DVD player. I know you can't play playstation with it but the screen is much larger and I don't have to leave it in my car since I only use it for long trips. With one of those cassette adapters made for portable cd players I can listen to the sound through my stereo. Plus it's a computer to boot!

From what I understand, and I could be wrong so please correct me, it is legal for the for a tv/lcd screen to be in the driver view if it is hooked up to some sort of rear view camera, if it is being used for navigation ( GPS ) or if it a factory option beign used to display vehicle information.

Here is picture my 4" Sony lcd screen in the located in the center console.

Thats a GREAT install. How long did it take you?

It probably took around 2 weeks, mostly sanding. It's all hand laid fiberglass and bondo, I think it came out pretty good for my first attempt. Thanks
