My 96 explorer 4.0l has a reoccuring p1405 code - excessive flow upstream dpfe hose. Dpfe has been replaced. Pressure feedback hoses (both upstream and downstream) are tight and without leaks.
Has anyone dealt with this before.
It's been a while since I played with a 4.0. But my guess here is maybe the EGR valve isn't closing completely? I'd take it off and clean it good where it "seats" closed. You also may want to check the tube itself.
