RICHCRESCI...

the drone isnt that bad at all, but everyone's tolerence is different...

in my X the loudest points of ( drone ) are @ 1900 RPM, and at 3000 RPM. This is with the windows up of course.

Thanks! It's snowing in my area today and work ran late so I'm gonna go in tomorrow morning and see what he says.

Alright, So, MY Guy said he'd do it for $400 with tips and a flow master. However, After my up all night research I've decided to skip the muffler and just get a new chrome tip, I just can't seem to find any exhausts that sound worth the money. In my opinion, the little to no sound that comes from stock it best.

so what of tip u gonna get r u gonna get dual tips or single

Probably single. But I'm not to sure yet.

Another option you might think about is keeping all the stock piping and just replacing the muffler. It will require a little extra pipe to be added on but a very simple process. I'll try to get a sound clip of my FM 50 SUV. You might like the way it sounds.

If you could that would be greatly appreciated!

So i meant to do it today and i got swamped on some household projects. i'll def. try to get it done tomorrow

I have a flowmaster 40 series muffler with a 3" chrome tip coming out the back. I have the 4.0 V6 and it adds a nice tone to my ex. Paid around $200 for everything installed at my local Midas.

Hey rich. so heres a little clip of of my FM 50 SUV series. its just a muffler-back system and i stuck with 2.25" piping and a 2.5" tip. BTW, its a 4.0L.

that does sound pretty nice! I still don't even know if I wanna touch the exhaust anymore. It's a tough decision. I'm thinking about some kind of lights off-road now instead ;)

hey... miller time... how much did that setup cost you? if u dont mind me asking.. and did you have it put on after your lift? did you have more clearance after your lift? im assuming you did... i am just getting some ideas for down the road, and was wondering if the lift should come before my exhaust. im sure it would be the best idea. but with lift i will want new wheels and tires... lol so im trying to set up a process and budget. thanks

MillerTime...

thanks for the post of the 50 series...

i think with my future new explorer im gonna go with a 50 series Catback Exhaust instead of 40, for a slightly quieter exhaust...

I think it ended up costing around 300 or so after installation. Cant remember back that far haha. But yeah I had it put on after my body lift because the stock exhaust hung down so far. So if you plan on doin the body lift, just remember to do the exhaust after. Check my Elite page and you can see a huge difference.

Yeah I love the 50 series, especially cause Im rollin the 4.0. Not much grunt in that engine, but the 50 series doesnt get very choppy at all at high RPMs.
