I just got a 2001 Ford Ranger (3.0L, V6, 2WD) yesterday, and overall..it's a fine little truck. I had the radiator and transmission flushed as well when I bought it, as the radiator and transmission both looked like they needed a little bit of flushing. But, through all of this little truck, I only have ONE pet peeve. The emergency brake light does not always come on whenever I set it. This really isn't a major problem as it is an annoyance, and I can live with it not working, but I'd just like to get it working if I could. Any ideas as to what it could be? I've checked the brake fluid and all and made sure that was good, and it was. But, just wondering if anyone else has a clue at what it could be?

Check to see if the light green/red wire is tight at the p-brake mechanism under the left end of the dash. Also, cleaning the contact area wouldn't hurt. The circuit grounds there to make the p-light come on when the pedal is depressed.

Does the light come on for a few seconds when you start the truck? If not, the bulb is bad.
