Can anyone suggest anything???

Welcome. Posting the exact code(s) will be very helpful. Otherwise, it could be a couple different things.

DPFE Sensor

I just replaced my DPFE sensor last week, successfully! That is most likely your problem if your error code is P0402, that's what my reader said. Hope this helps! =)

You only have one EGR valve. Do you mean the EGR & DPFE?

A cracked vaccum line will cause an EGR code. Did the shop replace or check the lines to the DPFE?

I have an on going egr issue as well. The guy read the codes just said hi egr flow... so i figured it was due to a tube. I found one end of the tube cracked so i cut it back, got a good seal but the CEL came back on......... grrrrr..... off to the parts store tomorrow to get the code number..

Replaced the DPFE sensor.... CEL gone... but man! what a PITA to get to that thing!!
