Yo I ha e a 1992 ford explorer eddie bauer edition and at cold start up it wants to run good keep idle then 2-3 minutes will want to spudder like it's not getting gas or something and then die .replaced some parts got it going again then .This morning I had to get a jump and tested the battery and the alternator and both are healthy and good . I was told that it could be the egr valve keeping something open and causing it to short the battery . But have no idea if I got on for my yr or where the #### it would even be . The odd part to this equation is that when the car runs and drives hot or warm ( standard operating temp) runs like it had no issues.

**** I replaced so you can see where I am at .

Eec relay
Wot relay
Fuel pump relay
Mas airflow sensor
Thottle the position sensor
Idle air control valve
Air intake temp sensor
Temp cooling sender
Temp cooling sensor
Thermostat
Top radiator hose
Bottom radiator hose
Pcv valve
Fuel filter
Positive and negative battery connectors
Trans filter
Tans fluid

Tested battery -pass
Tested alternator -pass
Tested modulator-pass
Inspected belt - good
Belt Tensionor- good

So all that being said help I have videos of the
Car in the morning running and l doing it s cut outs
I could Email them . But need help about to waive the white flag and send it in .

Where's the EGR valve on my car .

What else could cause the car to cut out cold but when warm it runs like nothing is wrong .

Help thanks !!!

Since you have a 92 I doubt you have EGR. At least all the 92's I've seen do not have it, but you know how Ford was, mixng and matching parts.

Having said that, if you do have it, it will be a round-ish looking thing attached to the driver's side of the upper intake manifold. (not to be confused with the idle air controller (IAC) which is also round cylinder). The EGR valve is flatter and usually not silver like the IAC.

Have you checked for vac leaks? As in vac lines coming loose at the tree or having cracks in them? Plus remember another vac line runs to the bottom of the throttle body. Sometimes when a car heats up these leaks seal due to parts expanding and heating.

Also verify O2 sensor operation
check fuel pump itself
check coil pack / plug wires

Update

How does one check o2 sensors and the pump it self? I have looked for leaks but nothing I have sprayed around the throttle body nothing looked at the vacum tree all there the lines to the FAR are hooked up as well as to the throttle body (under neath) and to the maf sensor .

How do you check the ohms on the coil pack or ypu looking for voltage?

Coil pack would be this:

O2 sensors are difficult, would be best if you had an oscilloscope since a multimeter doesn't refresh fast enough to catch the voltage swing properly.
