Electrical Gremlin! GEM?

I have an '02 XLT. Last week it started experiencing strange issues; the power lock switch on the driver's side door panel only works when the key is on, the buzzer that dings when the key is in the ignition keeps dinging even when door is closed; and it switched itself into 4wd when driving in a parking lot. I did some research and it sounded like a GEM module. I ordered a new GEM online and had it programmed and installed at the dealership. Everything worked fine at first, but later that night I noticed the power lock switch on the driver's door panel only works when the key is on again. This makes no sense to me?

Any ideas or advice is appreciated!

Check the door wiring harness bundle under the rubber boot that goes from the door to the body. I would almost bet you have broken wires in there. (I had 5 severed wires on mine and 1 more ready to break)

Awesome! I found a black wire broken in the boot, repaired and back in business!
