I have a tilt wheel. You mean the retainer for the wire itself or the big grey clip? The big grey clip was my bad.

The wires going to the MFS have been known to get pulled on when the tilt wheel is put down. This can pull the wires out of the MFS breaking their clips.

I second the tilt wheel as being the likely culprit.

It's been a problem with fords for at least 30 years.

My 86 and 88 T-Birds had the same issue, and so did 2 F150s that I've owned.
