engine idles rough when cold

Here is my quandry. I read the threads on the IAC, however I wanted an outside opinion on my situation. Every day when I start my 91 it will barely crank up then die, then when I restart it stays at idle, a little rough though. When it is at idle and until it is really warm it sounds like a semi-truck or a huge vaccuum. I also noticed my amp guage bouncing around like crazy until I eccelerate, then it steadys out. My fan is cracked in several places and I will be changing that out next week. Any ideas?

Sounds like your TPS could be giving you problems too How is your altenator?

Bad alternator, sounds like the regulator may be going, weak spark will cause it to run rough, it may be taking a few seconds to balance out and put out the right amps.
