Hi!

I have a 04 explorer xlt v6. I replaced both the left and right motor mounts, after replacing the driver's side (no small feat) I started the engine and there was a pretty noticeable shake. The shake feels a bit like a stutter and is only really noticeable at idle. I have a pretty decent obdII scanner but I am unsure what code I should be looking for. I am looking for some solid starting points as I diagnose this problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I am looking for a ford factory service manual, it takes me forever to look up torque specs. I don't mind buying one, but there seems to be a lot of scam sites out there.

TIA!

Mine shakes like that too. I have the motor mounts already, just haven't had time yet. How did you support the engine when you did yours? On other vehicles, I've put the jack under the oil pan, with a wooden block of course, but these have aluminum pans. I have no front diff to deal with either. I took it out because the previous owner removed the front axles, and the front drive shaft. It would have cost way too much to make it AWD again. On my third time replacing the starter, I decided it made no sense to keep the thing in my way if I was never going to fix it. As for torque specs, I have the ALLDATA subscription and it is quite useful for that.

Check your spark plug wires may have bumped one

Check your vacuum lines too. Especially the ones behind the plenum. Could have pulled one loose, or broken one.
