Hello all,
I have a question about my 2001 5.0 explorer.
I just replaced my passengers side exhaust manifold. It ran fine with the old manifold on but making alot of noise but now that it was replaced it runs quiet now but the engine runs rough and lacks power. Now the engine light came on and flashes for awhile then goes on solid but then goes back to flashing again and does the same cycle over again. What does this mean?
I did take off the battery cable to reset the computer. Now light is off but still runs rough.
My question is, will the computer have to relearn with the new manifold that is on now since there isn't any leakage anymore? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, junkman49

Did you use the same exact style of manifold? Did you possibly put wires in wrong spot? Maybe cracked a plug? Did you put the old plugs back in or get new ones? Check your gap! Thats where I would start.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. Wait until the check engine light comes back, and then find out what the code numbers are. Don't disconnect the battery before you find out what the code numbers are.

I put the same style manifold on and checked the wire locations. I could have cracked a plug doing the install. I will have to check that out.
I did break off 4 bolts in the head. I got them out and had just about enough without breaking off some spark plugs too. Pretty stresed out already if you know what I mean.
The Ex ran great before I did the job. I did change the EGR valve and tube too because of all the rust. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for your help,
