okay.

here's the deal... i went to work this morning, no problem. engine ran fine. check engine light came on as it usually does. i have been to autozone to have them check it, but since it is a 94, they can't read the code. the light comes on sometimes, but not always.

anyways, i fired it up to come home, and noticed a putting or almost sputtering feeling coming from somewhere as i reversed out of my parking spot. i put it in neutral, and revved up, there was definitely a miss or something. not at idle, or at least it was not noticeable. it seemed like a plug was missing or something like that. this has never happened before.
i drove home 25 miles or so, at highway speed, but there was this putting feeling, and a vibration. it went faster with rpms. i wish i could describe the effect better. i used to have a ranger that hated cold wet weather. it was acting like that. maybe an electrical problem? kind of a loss of power, and a sputter. it happens in neutral, in park, and in all gears. i am scared i lost a cylinder.
i pulled the three plugs on the driver's side. they were all hot, and did not smell like gas and were not wet at all. the front two on the passenger side were the same way. i could not get to the rear-most plug on the pass. side, though. the one on the driver's side in the middle was covered in a whitish residue. the rest of them were blackish.
is this an air induction problem, an electrical problem, or what? please anybody who might be able to lend some input, help me out. i'll be looking for some responses soon. thanks, guys.

i know thats not very much real factual information.

i am freaked out, because i dont really have any money to drop on this right now, and it is my only vehicle.

maybe somebody knows more about how i could figure out whats wrong myself, like some other things i could check . i guess its possible that the c.e.l. had nothing to do with it. what would my engine act like if it was only running on 5 cylinders? could it be anything else? what should or shouldnt the plug tips look like? can i even tell from the plugs?

hasnt this happened to anybody else?

yeh, could be a misfire...if I was in your shoes id change the spart plugs and wires (especially if its been a while) and see if there is any improvements. Whitish residue? Corrosion?, mabye water got in there, i dunno
