ever installed a 3" body lift w/o steering extention?

I'm toying with the idea of throwing a 3" body lift on the truck while I wait for the guy to cut and turn my beams. It's worth waiting for because he is doing it for free + motorcycle parts.

Anyway, I bought this lift kit from a EF member. I have lost the steering shaft extension. as I understand it, these are recommended but not required. Any truth to this?
What are the possible/ probable short falls of not using the extension?

I haven't heard of the extensions being optional on a 3" kit. But that could be true.

When I had my 3" BL I had the steering shaft extended at a local welding shop instead of using the extension. Might be just as cheap as buying the extension and having it shipped.

Yeah, I might ahve to do that though. Trouble is i need to have a quick turn around. I'm not alowed to leave my vehicles in the shop over night or during buisness hours.

I didnt have to use the steering extension on mine with the 3" body lift and it doesnt bind or anything.
