- 2000 FORD EXPLORER SPORT
I have a 2000 Explorer Sport, and pretty much since I got it it has had an odd idle to it, especially when the weather gets warm. The smell of the exhaust has always been a little off too, but as it didn't cause any major problems I ignored it. Two days ago the crap hit the fan. It starting idling really rough, the exhaust smells just like gasoline, and when you start to accelerate white smoke comes out the tailpipe. Checked the oil, its not "milky" no oil leaks, not using coolant. After reading some of the threads we replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator, its still doing the same thing and now is making a "hissing noise"...any ideas.
