So driving around lately and the car it sounds like hell. I am thinking it is in the muffler. It gets louder when I hit the gas and quiet when no power is applied. It is the stock system that came with the car (2000 v-8 limited). Still has power when I push the pedal down, how can I check if it's a muffler
/exaust and not something else? Also, what have people replied there system with? R.A. Has a whole walker kit for the car with the muffler, and tailpipe. Anesthesiologist on brands etc to get? Would I ever need to replace equipment from the exaust manifold to the muffler? Is that a common issue?

Thanks.

cheap and effective way to check for an exhaust leak is to place a rag or towel at the end pipe and see if there is back pressure. if there is no leak then it will be hard to hold the rag there. if there is a leak the you should be able to hear where exactly where the leak is. best to do with 2 people.
