exhuast loud again..

well guys my exhuast is loud again. ive had a 2 chamber flowmaster on my truck for a while now. and a few months back i cut off the tail pipe 2 inches away from the bumper. man it sounded mean. but in an effort to fix my car i put the tips on to see if it helped. it didnt do anything at all. and it was much more quiet.
2 days ago i installed the kkm on my truck. and im loveing it. it even made my exhuast sound meaner.
so i was at my friends house last night and i decided to make my exhuast louder. i took out his sawzall and cut a notch in the tail pipe 4 inches away from the muffer. man its just as loud as before. i love the sound. i am going to go down to the muffler shop and have them tap weld a ghanger back on so that i can cut the pipe the rest of the way. =)

the louder the better as ive always said.

yeah....just like my exhuast... it dumps 6 inches behind the muff exit...b/c of a hangar and then an extra inch or two so i can put a flexy pipe on to make it legal should i need to smog it or get a too loud fix it ticket... i have a 40 non delta..... mike, i think i got the cutting behind the muffler idea from you.... i think my neighbors are getting p.o.ed cuz i come home late at night and set of car alarms...

haha yeh i love setting of car alarms.
you should here my friend jimmy's mustang. he has a 96 combra with 40 series non delta's and a no cat h-pipe and he cut his pipes off too. i can here him get off the freeway and drive to my house. the thing is unbelieveably loud.

how many of us who post on this board are up in the bay area anyway?
someone should organize something so we can all get together. i would love too see some other peoples modified explorers. so far mines the only modified X ive seen.

some states don't require a muffler to pass smog.

the front of the muffler on my '92 disintegrated... so it sounded kinda nasty untill it warmed up, then something sealed and it sounded more normal, but in an underground parking lot it sounded like a ricer.

i finally got that fixed, but last time i had it smogged the tech complained 'cause half the exhaust was coming out the front and half out the back... he finaly got a good reading, but he said that if he couldn't i could go home and tear the muffler off.

hmmm, my 40 deltaflow is actually much quiter than i expected, even with a fairly short pipe coming out in front of the rear wheel.

yeh mine is a delta but its loud. i set off many a car alarms. im going to buy a non-delta 40 series pretty soon.
