The OEM sub in my 91' XLT with JBL system is blown and I am looking at purchasing an aftermarket 6.5" sub on a budget. Unfortunately, not to many people make a 6.5" sub, and some that I have seen look questionable. Can anyone direct me to a place where I can buy a decent 6.5" replacement under $50 that will work with the factory amp?

JC Whitney carries a 6.5 from Pyramid for 12.99. The one on my 96 went out, the pyramid sounds pretty good.

I would suggest something a little better than the 13$ Pyramid, it might sound good to you, but the first tiem you hear a MTX, or any other good quality Sub compared to your pyramid you will definately tell its not good sounding.

If you got the money, invest i na box to repalce teh rear sub, they take an 8" sub, and amp it. They even have Loaded boxes, with a sub/amp already built in.... Will sound tons better than the 6.5" Ever could....

I put the JL Audio 6in sub in it. It fit with very very very minor modifications, I think I just had to cut a little of the rubber insulation lip off of the sub, but it fits fine and sounds awesome. It cast me $80 I think. Its deep and it shakes all the mirrors and gets very deep and is very clear.

I have a Rockford Fosgate 6.5" in. Heh...before buying my RF, I had a Pyramid. It lasted me only 2 days. Haha...
