Explorer 2007-2008 model differences

Compared to 2008 the 2007 model has fender flares and bumpers painted in a different color. Is this a paint, or some type of coating?

Currently considering buying either 2007 or 2008 model. Wondering if 2007 with its dual color scheme is more complicated for repair in case of future accidents requiring repaint? Thanks.

Apparently the '07 you are looking at is an Eddie Bauer. My 2007 XLT is solid black - "flares" and all. The Eddie Bauer - regardless of the year, has a contrasting color on the fenders and bumper areas.

Nope, the one I am looking at is an XLT. Below is a sample image.

I just bought a 2008 Limited. I wanted the 2008 over 2007 because it has Sync.

As far as bumper and trim color, I believe Limited is body color, Eddie Bauer is tan, and XLT is dark grey. I'm not sure about XLS.
