Explorer dosent want to shift when I get on the gas

Sorry for the long title but I couldn't think of any way to explain it with out making it so long so when I'm out an I get on the gas the truck wants to get up to about 25 or 30 an then dosent seem to shift until I let off the gas. I'm not sure what the problem could be. Could someone please help me out.

So it holds first gear til about 30mph. Does it shift into 2nd or skip 2nd and go into 3rd?

Last time I had a similar problem, it was a broken intermediate band in the trans.

It'll shift only after I let of the gas the bit shifts like normal
