It will work but requires a lot of wiring, 40+ that need to be run all over the explorer. There is a write up on the forum somewhere. My last mountaineer didn't have one, my new one does, and honestly I'm not very impressed. I have a scan gauge 2 that will tell my everything the message center will, and a whole lot more. The message center in mine will be getting pulled out soon and replaced by the panel I had my scan gauge and switches mounted on.

so you wouldnt even bother then huh. thanks man. i also have to replace my exhaust and shocks. got any tips?

If you want that kind of info I think a scan gauge would be a much better purchase. Shocks and exhaust are both pretty personal choices. Which motor do you have? Do you want loud, quiet or something in between? Do you want a comfortable ride, a more stiff sport truck ride, shocks for off roading?
