My 94 Explorer is stuck in low range made grinding sounds as it went into four-wheel then it just stuck in low made mistake left four-wheel for 4 days Park

Unbolt the shift motor from the transfer case, you will see a shaft of sorts and markings on the transfer case... grab some pliers and turn the shaft so it points to 2H... that gets you on the road. There are threads on fixing the shift motor.
 






Thank you luckily I work at a wrecking yard and have access to about a billion of these things but the motor was making weird noises anyway so I figure there's something wrong with it the lights won't even come on in the four wheel drive shifter stuff
 












Yeah, there's a little rubber bump-stop in the drive gear of the motor. If it disintegrates, the motor can overrun. There are contacts in there that tell the shift computer what is going on, and if the motor overruns, the contacts stop lining up, causing the shift computer to become confused. If you install another shift motor, you might replace the bump-stop before installation, will save you time and trouble down the road. All you need is a little chunk of rubber vacuum hose. There are threads on this everywhere on this site.
