Wife went off the road "to avoid a squirrel". Speed was approx 55 when she hit the ditch, went over a driveway culvert, and ended up in a patch of saplings.
And before anyone asks, no, insurance won't cover it because about 2 months ago I decided to "save money" by dropping it to basic coverage. Such is my life. ha ha.
Attached are some pics of the damage. To get it running again was under $300 parts including replacing the things I broke (sheared strut bolt, cracked a socket) trying to repair the original damage. All it needed to get back on the road was a radiator and lower control arm. Debating whether I'll fix the rest or just leave it as "battle scars". lol
Airbags didn't go off. Nobody was seriously hurt (released by the medics at the scene) State cop almost laughed at me when I asked if I could try to back it out of the ditch to avoid a tow. Instead, cop forced it to be towed @ $400.
Let's see a Prius go through the same experience w/o being totaled.
