when I start my ex in the morning the light for low range 4x4 is lit not the one on the intrument cluster but the on directly beside the button? It turns off on its own after a while and I tries putting the truck in low to try and clear it but does not work? also my engine light is coming on after a few minutes of driving then goes out after a few minutes?? Lastly when i switch my heat controls to air or defrost my truck stalls and turns off??? what is up with my ex it has been so good but all of a sudden this happens? I have 130 000 km

Thanks any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Can't help ya with the low range light up, but I believe your stalling problem to be the A/C air compressor clutch. Check that before trying anything else:)

Clean/replace your IAC. That controls your idle when you turn on the A/C. If it is malfuctioning, your engine will run rough/stall.

thanks for the suggestion i just got a haynes manual is it very hard to clean/replace? also is it expensive?

It's easy. It's bolted on the throttle body with 3 screws. It's a chrome cylindrical thing with a black cap sticking off of it and one electical plug connection.

You can get one for about $70-80 from Fordpartsnetwork I believe. $100+ from the dealer.

i have no idea what it really was but my 93 did the same "low range" thing for a while this winter. someone told me to put in back in 4x4 for a little while, then when i disengage, back up 10 feet or so. it hasnt done it since and i dont really see how it would change anything, but like i said, it hasnt done it since and i havent had the chance to use 4x4 since...but i never had ay actualy trooubles with it either.
