Explorer VS Ranger interchange

Hi all.

I just picked up a wrecked 01 4x4 Ranger 4.0 SOHC with an Auto Tranny.

Just curious what engine or drivetrain parts my interchange with my 01 Explorer 4x4 4.0 SOHC with an auto tranny?

I believe they both have 5r55e trannies but am unsure if connectors will hook up the same, also noticed the engines take different spark plugs so unsure if heads are different or engine blocks also.

Anybody have any insight to this either way?

Wanna know if its worth my time to cut the engine and tranny out or scrap it as is...

Will have free parts that interchange for other board members if parts do indeed interchange...
