I've read that some people were able to fix this in about 10 minutes. I can't get my hand up there to replace the bolt. Is it necessary to remove the bottom dash panel? I suppose I have to lay on my back and reach up. Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks.

It's so much easier to pop the bottom dash panel off.

Removing the lower dash panel did not give me access. :( I will have to squeeze myself underneath.

it won't give you easier access, but you can see it easier, and fit your arm in there better. it is real tight, that's why when I did it a second time, I put thread locker on thee, because I don't want to do it again.

Thanks to everyone and this forum. I'm not giving up.

You can do it!!! I'm 6'2" 265 lbs and 57 years old. I squeezed my big a$$ down there w/o taking anything off. Took me longer to get out of there than it did to fix it.

I'm 59 and 290 lbs! I'm afraid that if I do squeeze in I'll have to call the fire dept. to get me out! :D Quick question: What tool did you use? Screwdriver with torx bit? I'm thinking a flexible shaft might help.
