I have a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT w/ a 4.6 V8. It is solid black and has no lower trim. I like the look of the Explorer's that have the gray trim along the bottom. Is it possible to add this to my explorer or is it worth the effort?

Thanks!
B

I have a 05 xlt and an 04 neither have that trim both are loaded... my 05 has everything almost but the v8 I'd guess you can buy it and adhere it to the body but it'd cost a fortune new most likely

Yeah thats what I was thinking...I like the all black look but at the same time the 2 tone look is nice as well.

i would love to give you mine lol but unfortunately under the trim is holes in the body ... or so im told

Bingo! you are correct... a few weeks ago I went to a "u pull it" yard and came across a couple of 3rd Gens that have the trim and I tried pulling one off to see whats underneath and there were holes present.

Oh well...I guess I'll just stick with the all black look. Im trying to decide on a set of nerf bars/side steps now and I cant decide between the stainless or all black.

Black in my opinion especially if you have a black explorer.
