I have installed an iPod adapter in my 2004 XLT with the basic factory radio with CD changer controls. Everything appears to be working- the iPod charges and plays. My problem is that I can not figure out how to get the changer controls to function. Since I didn't have an external CD changer I've never had to use these until now. There is nothing in the manual about this.

I've searched and can not find any existing threads on this topic.

Thanks.

Try hitting cd twice

Two times doesn't work

I'll have to re-check my install of the iPod adapter.

Thanks.

iPod Installation is Correct

I've double and triple-checked my install. I checked the wiring harness for continuity. I made sure I had 12V and a good ground. Everything is correct. The iPod seems to work like it thinks it's playing. But, I can not get the CD changer controls to activate. Every time I push the CD button, I get a message that says 'No CD'.

I have another iPOd adapter coming to switch out the one I have.

Is there some kind of code that needs to be programmed into the factory radio for it to recognize input at the CD changer?

I'm reaching for anything. I do not want to replace the radio.

Thanks.
JT
