Extra hole in 5.0 block

Hello, I'm doing an engine swap for my son and the remanufactured engine we recieved has an extra hole aft of #4 cylinder behind the lower intake manifold, on top of the block where the intake manifold sits, the old block didnt have a hole there, any clues as to what it is for? I'm at a work stop until I get this resolved. Here is a link to another site that has the picture attached.

If you explain what engine you are replacing with what, some techs may have more info.
