Shane asked in another post "how I liked my EZ Locker".

I installed an EZ locker on the front of my 94 XLT. I love the way it works, I made it up Double Whammy & Potato Salid Hill in MOAB due to the locker up front. It works great.

Would I do it again? NO!

The install was a pain, I recieved the wrong part ( I can overlook this ) from Drivetrain Warehouse, sent 1 for a jeep Dana 35 and it has a smaller Axel diameter. The Ring Gear had to be removed to press out the retaining pin for the spider gears. I had a local shop finish this part for $200 total and I got to install the carrier back in the truck. I might not have noticed the loose fit of the locker? Not sure if I would have caught it, the shop did thank goodness. The R & R of the front carrier was a pain. The torque Arm retaining bolt is placed under the Radius Arm so you have to remove it to drop the carrier. Big time Bummer for the average mechanic.

Options? If I had to do it again I would have put a Detroit Locker up front. Only $200 more than what I spent and much more durable in the long run. I also would have saved for a gear change at the same time since I had to tear everything down up front. Only do it once and save some money deal. Of course I'm envious of the ARB's because they can un-lock very easy for tight turns etc.

Anyway, I realise that there is a limit on how fast the money tree grows and sometimes it's easier to do things in steps. So for the money, I would do a Detroit before an EZ Locker next time. And if the money tree had more fruit then I would do Gears or an ARB next.

Thes is just my experiance with the EZ Locker, Please post if your was different. It's always good to hear what everyone else did and experienced.

Happy Trails
