f150 coils

Ive searched and read how the coil spacers work and how the springs can be made iinto a ******* pack for lift but, how bout f150 coils will they work or will it not be possible to align? you would think that the wieght of the Xplorer would be enough to make it work and give you a cpl inches lift but not enough to squash em down. And I saw a lifted full size Bronco mid 80s style at the JY a while back would the lift work on the X or are the 44 and the 35 that much different?

Yes I read that but he never finished his post as to wether it was alignable or not. As this is a street driven truck for the most part id like to be able to align it. or at least get it as close as possible

I just updated it.

If you use 3.25 or 3.5 degree bushings you will be able to get it perfect. max for spec is .5, my left would only go to .6. I am leaving mine that way for now.

The springs feel nice. rides great, a tad softer than the stock Ex springs. with the 250 shock mounts, I have 15" wheel travel. I expect that to increase a little when i extend the radius arms. I did not have to extend the brake lines. The Procomp shocks are perfect. It is outside my comfort level to drive the roads with the front sway bar disconnected. But I'm about to run a drill through my bushing sleeved to run a 1/2" trailer hitch pin.

There was a guy on TRS that put F150 coils into his BII. He had to modify the coil bucket, and it seemed to work, but looked a little hokey.

Thanks for the info guys, Im thinking this mite be the route Im going to go. Just a cpl more questions if you dont mind, What year coils did you use? and did you use the springs from the same truck? I have a line on some F150springs off of a 2000 truck, hes asking 65 but i think i can get them for 50$, and i can get the coils for about 15$ at the locl jy. But I have a set of 31x10.50 goin on this week and wanna see what it looks like with my 2" BL bfore i go to much higher as this will only be an occasional wheeler and mostly used to pull our tent trailer and flat tow the Samarui out to the wheeling spots that arent local.

I'm not sure if springs that new will work. I got mine from a 93. I think they used the same springs from 80-95. I would measure the top and bottom of the springs to see if they will fit in the spring perch.
I got mine from pull a part for $8 each. then the bushings for $16, upper shock mounts for $5 each, and shocks were $35 each. all in all, I spent less than a body lift costs, gained more wheel travel and 2 1/5" lift, and really like the way the truck handles and performs.
Really you don't need the shock mounts, but you will need new shocks, but get the 4" lift shocks.

So F150 coils work. Some say they are a tad to much. so if I were really cheap could I just get some played out ones? and would that keep me closer to the 2 inch benchmark? I recently grabbed some leafs from a 1970's Omega and slapped them on easy 2" lift.

And with trying to stay around the 2" mark, regearing required? Spent about 3 hours researching and so many mixed responses.
